Psychic guidance and life path
There comes a time when you really have to take a look at what it is you’re doing with your life. That time came for me when I was 35 years old; I’d spent many years in the corporate healthcare environment and expected that would be my career through my retirement. However, at 35 I heard something very different. This information didn’t come from within, nor did it come from a career adviser. What would you say if I told you it came from a psychic.
Yep, a psychic
It could have come from a fortune cookie, a dream, or a drunken bender; any of those I would’ve taken more seriously than a psychic. Be that as it may, a psychic it was. I paid for psychic readings maybe a half dozen times in my life up to that point. I believed to a certain extent we all had psychic abilities, but psychic readings were for fun or entertainment — certainly not for changing your entire career path.
I’ll never forget her words. “What is your question?”
“I don’t have a question.”
She asked me again, “What is your question?”
I responded in the same manner, “I don’t have a question.”
“Sure you do, that’s really why I’m here.”
That was when the tears began to flow. I was shaking inside, I had no idea how my life was going to change but I knew it would. My question was how much of the activity I was experiencing in the house was about me.
She smiled and patted my hand, “All of it, don’t you understand?”
Not. Gonna. Happen.
The reality was I didn’t understand. I had no idea. All I knew was that I was living in a home with spirit activity. I experienced the majority of it, but others experienced it as well. She explained that Spirit was so very excited from the moment I first stepped into the home that I could see, I could hear, I could feel their presence. Going on to explain that I had a “tremendous gift and with that gift an incredible responsibility”. She described my abilities as being stronger than most. She explained that within 10 years I would be working exclusively doing readings, séance, mediumship and ultimately missing persons. My head began to swim. It made no sense. It was crazy talk, and I think my direct quote was something along the lines of “There’s no fucking way!”
My challenge with this whole “psychic” thing
I guess I was too left-brained. Too logical in my thought process. The concept of using my intuitive abilities to help others… I simply couldn’t comprehend it. She explained that it was quite a calling to work with people in this way, to give them closure.
What I wasn’t looking at was the fact that I had been tapping my intuition, my psychic abilities all my life.
I relied on my “gut feeling” to tell me if a circumstance was right for me, was I being told the truth, which direction should I take… all of these used on a daily basis. I was exercising this muscle without even being aware of it.
But, was I willing to step out and own this “label”. Psychic and medium? How would my world change? Who would judge me? Who would leave me? And finally would I be taken seriously in business – ever again.
My psychic abilities, a blessing
I have to say she was right; she is right. It is a blessing that I get to deliver love and messages of hope from the other side to the loved ones left behind. I get to facilitate healing. And on the rare occasions when I have to deal with difficult or painful information, I know that what I’m giving the client is ultimately peace of mind, knowledge, and closure. It is a blessing. I’m blessed every day. Here I am serving people in a way I never imagined possible, feeling happier than I have ever been, and with more peace in my life than I could imagine at the age of 35.
I often look back and think things are exactly the way they are meant to be.
Now I get to use my abilities in everything I do, openly. And more importantly, I get to teach others to embrace their intuitive nature. I mean, no one’s gonna burn us at the stake and decry us a witch at this point in history, right?!
Ultimately, psychic abilities are part of our human make up. Each and every one of us. Some, however are called to work with them in our day to day. Some of us do it directly – psychics, mediums, healers and readers. Most work indirectly; doctors and other health care practitioners, law enforcement, investigators, musicians, artists, writers, teachers, and many other creatives.
We are all best served by following our internal guidance system – our intuition. Call it instinct, gut feeling, a hunch or intuition; it’s all the same thing. Our inherent connection to all that is and our eternal spirit guiding us on our path.
If you find your life not working for you, or something just doesn’t fit, then maybe it’s time for a psychic reading or fortune cookie or just some good old-fashioned introspection. When you’re walking your path, the one that serves your spirit, you find yourself in the flow of joy and abundance.
Your turn… What psychic phenomenon have you experienced? Have you had a psychic reading before? Would you change your life based on information from a reading?
