Chakra Series: First Chakra

Chakra healing is just another way to find balance in your life

Many students want clarity about the chakras individually — what purpose they serve, which stones and crystals are best for them, and how they can recognize healthy energy patterns. I want to take this opportunity over the next few weeks to introduce you to each of the chakras. You’ll be shown how to determine what being in balance and what imbalanced looks and feels like, not only for you but for those you spend time with in your world.

Let’s begin with the first chakra.






First, Root or Base

Base of the spine


Fear, Anxiety, Insecurity, Worry, Grief, Depression, Self-Centeredness, Disconnection, Distrust, Low Self-Esteem, Greed


Lower Back Pain, Sciatica, Obesity, Anorexia, Constipation, Hemorrhoids, Prostate Problems, Varicose Veins

Vital connection to life.  We feel safe, grounded, alive and peaceful.


Exercises for your first chakra

Imagine the color red. The element is earth. Imagine yourself standing barefoot on a dewy patch of grass or a dirt path. Feel your feet connected to the earth, rooted into the ground. Think of the sound LAM.

·       I am grounded and connected to the earth always

·       Today I am willing to accept myself and others completely

·       I am open to trusting myself and others

·       I am ready to release old habits that no longer serve me

·       From this moment I am grounded and balanced, I am safe and secure
